I'm sure you'll agree with me when I say:

Catching the best EDM artists live at festivals can be life changing.

Here's the deal:

There are a lot of conflicting opinions in the electronic dance music community - especially when it comes to favorite musicians. That's why we set out to research the most credible polls on the subject.

But really:

We wanted to compare the crowd favorites to our own list of the best EDM artists based on a few criteria.

The burning questions:

Would the popular DJs chosen in the polls match up with our festival-formed preferences?  Will the DJs famous for songs with big bass drops hit both lists? Will the duo with the top club songs of all time rank in both top 10 pools?


Spoiler alert:

One of the lists tributes the producer of the most popular EDM songs of all time. The other list features the biggest DJ in the world right now.

But before we get to the good stuff, let's quickly recap some essential definitions.

What is an EDM artist?

An EDM artist is any DJ, musician, or producer who creates electronic music that falls into a wide range of genres, including house, dubstep, techno, glitch, trap, electro, trance, and hard style.

In general, their music is intended for dance culture enthusiasts across club and festival scenes.
