Imagine a music festival set on a farm between forest and woods…
In the meadow you find a gentle river, lined with an eclectic arrangement of local art, organic food, beautiful people, excellent music and a never ending tsunami of love. As you explore this new place you find friends that are full of life, bursting with energy and passion. You find six different stages, 10,000 people, a ship made out of friends (The Friend Ship) and an infinite amount of creativity. What you don’t find is a single corporate sign or advertisement. Why? Because this is Shambhala.
Welcome to the Salmo River Ranch, a 500-acre working farm that teems with cows, horses, pigs, chickens, miniature donkeys and hay fields September through July. During the off season, thousands of festival lovers flock to the farm to celebrate music, art and life in one of the most beautiful festival venues in the world.
This organically grown gathering originated with a few friends and has quickly turned into a 10,000 person annual music festival of epic proportions. Shambhala is produced by the Bundschuh family, which has worked together to hold an annual event that truly reflects the vision of the people who attend. They have done so by remaining independent and using their own vendors rather than accepting corporate sponsorship. This results in a very authentic music festival environment and experience.
Shambhala’s approach to stage curation especially turns me on. Each of the 6 stages has its own director. These stage directors are given the freedom to book their own talent, dream up the stage’s vibe and create the perfect party for the people on the dance floor.
Featuring the best in up and coming music, artists and performers each stage has its own unique atmosphere and style. We expect 2015 to be one of the best parties yet based on the recently released 2015 Mix Series and artist schedule. Check it out now so you can start to plan your optimal festival experience.
With over 300 musicians across six unique stages, festival goers can hope to catch artists such as Kygo, Pretty Lights, Bonobo, Skrillex, Claude VonStroke, KOAN Sound, Tipper, DJ Harvey, Lucent Dossier Experience, Mix Master Mike and DJ Jazzy Jeff at the festival later this Summer. Tickets are going fast with the festival having already hit the 90% Sold Out mark.
